How can I donate?

We rely on your donation of good quality items to pass on to those in need, no soiled, damaged or nonworking items.
FURNITURE: Lounges, dining tables, chairs, drawers, bedsides, coffee tables, small TV units, ensembles (single, double, queen)
WHITEGOODS: Washing machines, dryers, fridges
ELECTRICAL: microwaves, small kitchen appliances, lamps, stick vacuum cleaners, TVs
HOMEWARES: pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, utensils, storage, decor
LINEN: sheets, pillowslips, doona covers (single, double, queen), towels, blankets, brand new pillows, doonas and mattress protectors.
CLOTHING: Men, women, children.

CLOTHING: shoes, underwear
BABY EQUIPMENT: Cots, port-a-cots, change tables, cradles/bassinets, car seats, highchairs, booster seats, baby capsules

You can drop off your smaller donations to Lifehouse directly at 44 Golflinks Road, Buderim. There are blue crates on the right-hand side of the garage door at the bottom of the driveway to receive your items.

No. WH&S prohibits Lifehouse volunteers from assisting with the unloading of items. Please make sure you have helpers with you to assist.

Lifehouse supports other organisations on the coast with good quality items that are excess to our needs. We also have various repurposing initiatives so as not to add to landfill.
Clothing: We partner with Clothing Clean Up, who fortnightly collect clothing and linen from Lifehouse, distributing locally and internationally.
Homewares: We pass on excess homewares to other charities on the Coast.
Cookware: If unsuitable to client needs, we pass pots and pans onto a local metal recycling facility.
Reading glasses: Collected to send overseas for those who do not have access to glasses.
Linen: Sheets passed onto an organisation that make hospital gowns and towels are given to Sippy Downs Animal Refuge.

Yes. We rely on volunteers to work at the Lifehouse. There are a variety of roles including sorting incoming donations, serving customers and clients and collecting furniture. If you would like to be a part of our team, please contact us 0402034270.

Yes. Sometimes the items donated are not suitable to gift to those seeking assistance, or there is an excess of donated items. In these cases, we sell on FB Marketplace, using the funds to operate our truck and supplement high need stock that is in short supply, eg. kettles, toasters, new pillows and mattress protectors.
How can I access assistance?

You will need a referral from a Social Service organisation on the Sunshine Coast. Please request that they call or email us on your behalf.
Once your referral has been received, an appointment will be set up to visit Lifehouse and select the items you need.
When you arrive, you will be greeted by one of the Lifehouse volunteers, who will give you a form to complete, providing basic details and then discuss what you require.

Yes. All electrical and whitegoods undergo a rigorous process to ensure safety and functionality; are tagged and tested.

No. The responsibility of arranging pick up of items rests with you. Lifehouse requires you to pick up items within 1 week after appointment; during our opening times and by appointment. You need to arrange with Lifehouse a suitable time and ensure that you have labour to assist, suitable transport, straps/tiedowns, blankets etc.

Other Questions

Yes. However, as Lifehouse's primary function is to assist those in need, some items are not for sale - furniture, linen, pots, electrical goods. Most other items are for sale.
Homewares: There are no prices on items in the homewares space. Please ask the volunteer for pricing. We do this intentionally to offer dignity to those we are helping.
Clothing: Adults $3; children $1; unless labelled otherwise.
Marketplace: There are priced items which are on Marketplace. You are welcome to purchase these at the price labelled.

Yes. Lifehouse sells books and encourages you to read, return and swap for a new one.

No. We are not permitted to sell electrical items according to Health and Safety regulations; but we are permitted to gift them to people who have been referred to us for assistance, once the items have been electrically tested and tagged. We don't sell furniture, as our primary purpose is to assist with setting up of a home, and we need all the furniture that is donated to do this.
